This document provides answers to frequently asked questions on the R30812 Product Cost Simulation.
Use this document as a supplement to E1: 30A: R30812 Setup and Use of Simulated Cost Rollup or Standard Cost Rollup Document 643052.1.
Anytime there is a problem with the cost roll up, the Integrity Analysis program (R30601) should be run and finish clean. The R30601 will:
1. Verify that all items in the BOM (P3002) have a corresponding Item Master (P4101) and Item Branch Plant (P4102) record.
2. Look for any and all Recursive Bills of Material (any BOM that is an item going into itself)
3. If the first two items come out clean, the Low Level Codes will be reset.

Question 4. How is the F30026 updated after the Simulated Rate (XSR) is changed?
Question 5. What situations do the Costed Bill Inquiry (P30206) not match the Enter/Change Cost Components Screen (P30026)?
Question 6. Why are the Costed Bill Inquiry and the Costed Routing Inquiry not showing any values?
Question 7. How is a D1 cost deleted?
Question 8. Is it possible to get a detailed breakdown of how my labor costs are calculated?
Question 9. Can there be both purchased and manufactured costs on an item?
Question 10. What is the impact on Cost Rollup, inventory Stock Availability (P41202), Cardex (P4111) and General Ledger entries if Primary UOM isn't the smallest?
Question 11. How to simulate the cost for BOM & Routing with future dates ?
Question 12. Why do X cost sometimes not simulate correctly after a BOM or price change due to Simulated Factor is not getting refreshed?
Question 13. Why are no costs getting simulated for a phantom item with an effective bill of material?
Question 14. Error 0267 (Item Number Invalid) when copying costs to another branch?
Question 15. Why is the Simulate Net Added and Total columns not always updated correctly when the R30812 is run with the Cache/Work File option set to 1?
Question 16. How can costs be simulated and tracked as a model cost without affecting 07 Standard Cost?
Question 17. In Product Costing when doing Cost Roll Ups i.e. running Simulation R30812 and Frozen Cost Update R30835 is it OK to have items setup where the Stocking Type Second Description in UDC Table 41 / I is Blank?
Question 18. After changing an item from Stocking Type M to P, and running Cost Simulation R30812 over it, the Routing Labor Cost and Overhead Cost still rollup for the P stocking type item. Why?
Question 19. When running the R30812 Cost simulation over a Purchased Item that has X Cost calculated based on Simulated Factor Codes and Simulated Rate Codes the X Cost Simulated Net Added and Simulated Total blank out. Why?
Question 20. After accidentally running the Cost Simulation (R30812) over the entire Branch Plant, but not the Frozen update (R30835), is there a way to Roll back the Cost Simulated (R30812)?
Question 21. When running the R30812 Cost simulation program there are unexplained incorrect cost calculations for A1 Material Cost, and in some cases items on a BOM are completely ignored by the Cost Rollup. Why?
