Goal

What is the best way to handle an item that is a Manufacturing Item (Stocking Type M) but is may also be Purchased?  How can an item normally manufactured in house, also be set up for occasional outsourcing due to lack of capacity?

Example:
The M routing is set up for in-house, and an Alternate routing type is set up for outside operations ( *OP ).  If a given work order uses the alternate routing, how can "Planned" and "Actual" costs include the D1 cost associated with the outside operation?
