Purpose
Use this quick reference to all the field locations and uses for each. This supplements existing documentation, Chapter 4.5 Reviewing and Revising Simulated Costs in the 9.1 Product Costing and Manufacturing Accounting Implementation Guide, and by release: E1: 30A: Product Costing and Mfg Accounting Implementation Guides Document 1109538.1.
Overview
The Enter/Change Cost Components application displays item unit costs broken down by cost component (material, labor, machine, overhead and extras). Simulated and Frozen costs are maintained for net added and total amounts. The Simulated amounts are calculated and updated when the Cost Simulation (R30812) UBE is run in Final Mode. The Frozen Cost Update (R30835), uses the simulated amounts and then updates the frozen amounts in the P30026/F30026. It also updates the Item Cost Ledger (P4105/F4105) with the unit cost.
For standard costing (cost method 07) manufacturing uses the frozen standard amounts as the basis for product costing and manufacturing and variance accounting. Reminder - Applications Cost Simulation (R30812) and Frozen Update (R30835) are designed to work with Inventory Cost (CLEV) Level 2 - Item/Branch Level items.
Additionally, this application allows extra costs to be added to an item. The extra costs can be a set amount or an amount derived through a rate and factor. Select a row and view the calculation used to derive the routing related costs.
Manufacturing applications only use 'M' Type Bills of Material and Routings. Alternate BOMs and Routings with the Type fields (TBM) or (TRT) populated with anything other than "M" will not be used in a cost rollup / cost simulation, or for MRP planning.
Access Cost Components using fastpath G3014/P30026, or using the EnterpriseOne Menus/Multi-mode Manufacturing/Product Data Management/Daily Processing/Product Costing/Enter/Change Cost Components.
