Purpose
Overview
When an item has finished the production process on the shop floor, the next step is to record completions to inventory. The completion transactions created in the Shop Floor Management system update the item quantity records or Cardex (P41112) in the Inventory Management system. Shop Floor Control provides programs and processes that allow for the recording of completions for discrete and process work orders, as well as rate schedules.
The programs used to enter completions are: Work Order Completions (P31114), Super Backflush (P31123) as well as the Completions Workbench program (P3119) to enter completions for rate schedules. Work Order Completions can be done interactively by calling the P31114 from a menu or FastPath, and processed as either 'Full' or 'Partial' completions. When the P31114 is called from Super Backflush it can be done interactively or in 'blind mode'. Read more on Super Backflush in E1: 31: P31123 Understanding and Set Up Required for Super Backflush Document 626088.1.
If lot control is used, completions can be done for an item to a new or existing lot/location. The system can calculate different lot dates, such as expiration date and effectivity date, based on the lot date calculation information defined in the Item Master (P4101) or the Item Branch/Plant (P41026) program.
