E1: SEC: Error "COSE#1010 Remote environment initialization failed" in Enterprise Server Logs

Information in this document applies to any platform.
Users get errors when an application tries to execute a BSFN on the Enterprise/Application server. A web exception window pops up with the following error message:
*ERROR* CallObject@2d58f460: execute of [GetDefaultBranch] failed! Unable to obtain an environment on AMPI1:6012 user:MMMMM Env:JMXPD
Users also experience missing action buttons such as ADD, DELETE, OK. This problem is indicative of security failures. In SAW or Server Manager (E1 monitoring tools) there are many system errors occurring but all with the [init-remote-env] process, not the functional BSFNS.
For HTML clients, they receive the standard web exception pop up window with the following text as the error messages in the server logs:
