Symptoms

A new ODA ODBC data source is configured to use Microsoft ODBC for Oracle Driver to connect to an Oracle 10g database instance.  When using the new data source through Microsoft Excel an error is returned:

Unable to establish connection to instance-name

 The ODBC trace logs will have the following errors:
