E1: INST: How to Change out a Deployment Server (Doc ID 659735.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 14, 2024

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version SP24 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

The job of the deployment server is to help the system architect and system administrator to plan the topology of the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne components, to deploy those components to the appropriate servers, and to deploy Electronic Software Updates and custom modifications throughout the lifecycle of a JD Edwards EnterpriseOne implementation. The deployment server accomplishes these tasks regardless of which platforms the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne components run on. Situations arise that require that the Deployment Server be changed out/replaced by a new machine.

This document details how to change your EnterpriseOne Deployment Server. This information has been updated to include EnterpriseOne releases Xe through 9.2 and considerations for when the Deployment Server is in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

Scope

This document is intended for the system administrator responsible for configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting the EnterpriseOne Deployment Server.
