E1: SVM: Server Manager Agent Install Errors on Connecting (Doc ID 663946.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to install Server Manager Agent on a new box there are errors in the install logs.  Despite the errors, the process is able to complete through the installation forms, click on Finish, but the agent does NOT install.


The smha_is_install.log has the following errors:

...the log shows an error in connecting:
Install, com.installshield.scfha.event.dialog.swing.PanelMCInformation, dbg, Url String : http://usbljdeds001.global.xxx.com:14501/manage/agents/Solaris/sparc/5.10?serviceId=null
Install, com.installshield.scfha.event.dialog.swing.PanelMCInformation, dbg, Return code from Http Connect : -1 null

...later, there are errors for expanding the remote jars, e.g.:
Install, com.installshield.scfha.event.InstallScript, dbg, Expand Remote Jars : File List to download:/export/home/jde812/JDE_HOME/List.txt
Install, com.installshield.scfha.event.InstallScript, dbg, Expand Remote Jars : Destination :/export/home/jde812/JDE_HOME

...and the last messages in the log are:

Note: Starting Tools 9.1 the Server Manager install logs are stored under following location "C:\Program Files\Oracle\Inventory\logs\InstallActions\ installActionsyyyy-mm-dd_hh-mm-ssPM.log"
