E1: INST: Granting Disk and Registry Access on Windows Clients for Non-Administrators Users (Doc ID 664344.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 22, 2022

Applies to:

JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version SP23 and Prior to SP23 and Prior [Release SP23 and Prior]
Generic Windows

The company's policy does not allow admins to grant "local administrator" privileges to normal E1 users on their Windows workstations.  Windows users are seeing errors when using EnterpriseOne software and there are other errors when installing an EnterpriseOne FAT client:

LIB0000219 - RegOpenKeyEx failed with the Windows error number 5 (Access is denied.)

What other option is there to allow the EnterpriseOne software installation or User in EnterpriseOne to work successfully and to grant permissions to E1 files and/or directories for non-admin users?
