Purpose
This document provides helpful tips for performance tuning and issues related to the Metadata Kernel. There is no single document, public or Oracle (owned) that provides hard limits, settings, etc. A clear understanding of the operating system, hardware memory, vendor limitations is highly recommended. The facts within this document should be considered only recommendations. The best source of information about HP-UX or other operating system is still with the vendor.
Scope
Technical overview of Metadata Kernel issues. This document is intended for System Administrators with expertise in E1 and OS. This document does not provide a full picture of your configuration but makes basic recommendations and suggestions for some scenarios arising from Metadata Kernels.
