Question: Should the R052901 write the children assets debit using the child Rate group?
Assets are set up with parent/child relationships, where the parent has no rate. For example, Category Code 10 is used by the parent, while the children are set up with a different rate group. When booking time to the parent asset using Payroll Time Entry, or Equipment Time Entry and running the Generate Time Card Entries (R052901) with processing option 3 selected for Equipment Components (time booked to the parent will also be booked to the children), the R052901 uses the parent's Debit Side object account held in the Debit-Labor/Billing/Equipment program (P069043) under journal type ED rate group = Blank for both the parent and children.
Because the rate group for the children is not the same as the parent and the Debit-Labor/Billing/Equipment program also has an entry for the children asset debit side object account, should the R052901 write the children assets debit as child? The R052901 uses the object account of the parent asset based on rate group blank, and ignores the rate group/object on the children.
