E1: WRKFLW: Zombie Case Study and Kernel Crash when SendMessage or SendMessageExtended System Functions are Called within a Business Function on the Enterprise Server with Tools Release 8.98
Last updated on NOVEMBER 14, 2017
Applies to:JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools - Version 8.98 to 8.98 [Release 8.98]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
This issue applies to tools release 126.96.36.199 (including 8188.8.131.52), 898.1.0, 898.1.1 and 898.1.2.
Since upgrading to Tools Release 8.98, kernels are crashing when the SendMessage system function or SendMessageExtended system function is used within a business function or within a table trigger that processes on the enterprise server. This also occurs with most of the workflow system functions. The result of this crashing kernel is a web exception error on the application calling the business function and no possibility to validate the transaction.
Here is an example upgrading to tools release 8.98 getting huge number of zombie kernel in adding Purchase Order.
