Information in this document applies to any platform.

When installing a workstation with Service Pack 24.0.1 on a Vista Machine or Higher OS (e.g. Windows 7), the E1 Installation Service does not install.  The error log contains this line:

3959 6004 10:05:54 W CInstaller::InstallOracleE1InstallService: Failed to launch an executable. The command line was c:\Program Files\JD Edwards\B7\system\Bin32\"\Jdeploy\B7333\OneWorld Client Install\E1ServiceInstallation"\Setup.exe /s

The administrator made changes to the INSTALL.INF file of  the Deployment Server; located in:   \JDEdwardsOneWorld\B7333\OneWorld Client Install folder and added the following entry to the [File Locations] section of INSTALL.INF file to enable this service:

OracleE1InstallService =\Jdeploy\B7333\OneWorld Client Install\E1ServiceInstallation"\Setup.exe /s

Although this change was made, the install still fails and throws an "Exception with OK Button". In the jdeinst.log file, the following error appears:

CInstaller::InstallOracleE1InstallService: Key 'OracleE1InstallService'

In another scenario the Installer just failed with a screen error :

Setup Failed! The error reported by the operating system is 'The filename, directory name,or volume label syntax is incorrect. '.Please run the setup again.
