Purpose

This document provides information on how to configure the Windows Enterprise Server jde.ini, with Tools Release 8.98.2.0 or higher, via the Server Manager interface to use the Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 SP1 compiler for package builds.

<Bug 11024579> provides a fix for Server Manager wherein choosing the VS2008 compiler option from a drop-down list in the "Build Settings" page of the Enterprise Server node's configuration panel. This SM setting was being updated incorrectly. This fix will correctly populate the below build settings in Server Manager. <Bug 11024579> is fixed in Tools Release 8.98.2.2 and <Bug 11026235> fixes this same issue for Tools Release 8.98.3.0 onwards.
