Symptoms

The Manufacturing Journal Entries program (P31802) joblogs and dumps with IBM error RPG0102 - P31802 tried to divide by zero at statement 660.13

Scenario 1 Symptom

Upgraded to A9.2 Base from A7.3 with open work orders that include outside operation D1 cost components in the work order Production Cost file (F3102). The manufactured item has an outside operation setup on the work order routing (F3112), but when looking at the parent item costs using Enter/Change Cost Components program (P30026), the Frozen D1 Net Added (IESTDC) is zero. The parent item D1 Total column is greater than the Net Added ( $0.00) which indicates there are also outside operations setup on lower level assemblies. The outside operation item itself carries frozen A1 values in Net Added and Total columns.

Scenario 2 Symptom

Upgraded to A9.2 Update 1 from A8.1 cume 2 with open work orders that include outside operation D1 cost components in the work order Production Cost file (F3102).  The manufactured item has an outside operation setup on the work order routing (F3112). Inquiring on the parent item costs using Enter/Change Cost Components program (P30026), there is no D1 record. The outside operation item itself has a frozen A1 value of zero, so when it was rolled up to the parent item no D1 record was created, as expected.

The D1 intentionally carries a zero cost in this case because this is a consigned facility and zero cost is required for this outside operation setup. The parent item does not include an outside operation in its standard routing, nor a net added D1 cost component in this case (F30026). This is an exceptional situation. Typically the parent item carries a Net Added D1 cost value when the M type routing does contain an outside process step in F3003/F3112.

Data examples

The following screen prints show examples of correct and incorrect cost component records when the top level manufactured item and the sub-assembly routings are set up with outside operations.
