Symptoms

When you upgrade to release A9.3, the system requires that you set up a record in the Company File Security program (P0034) to allow access to the Company Constants File (F0010), which is updated primarily through the Company Numbers & Names program (P00105).

If you set up only a record for the *PUBLIC group ID, the system does not grant user-authority to the companies specified (including *ALL) when:

  1. A group is assigned to the User Class/Group field (UGRP) in the User Information program (P0092) for the user ID.





  2. You have role-based security set up.



The system returns error 300A (User not authorized to this company) even though a record exists in the Company File Security program for the *PUBLIC group, which grants access.

The problem occurs only when both of the following conditions in one of the following scenarios occurs:
