JD Edwards World Product Data Management - Version A9.1 and later Information in this document applies to any platform.
The Standard Cost methodology in Manufacturing consists of a two step batch process which is achieved by using the combination of the Cost Simulation (P30820) and Cost Update (P30835) programs. This two step process requires that the same set of data is selected in both programs, i.e. one after the other, running first the simulation P30820 then the cost update P30835.
The appropriate setup, use and preparation of some preliminary steps to run these batch programs will contribute to a successful result. The definition and monitoring of products costs are measurable for a company to compare its manufacturing performance against the Standard (Target) cost established in the system.
The Standard Cost methodology is used in the Work Order inventory activity as well as the Work Order Manufacturing Accounting in A8.1, A9.1 and above.
For programs in A7.3 refer to WS: 30: Manufacturing Standard Cost Simulation (P30820) and Standard Cost Update (P30835) Document 1541708.1.
This is beneficial and important for anyone involved in manufacturing product costing. Knowledge of the Inventory Management, Product Data Management, Shop Floor, Costing and Manufacturing Accounting modules is required. The information provided in this document is additional to the Product Costing and Manufacturing Accounting Guides/Chapter 2 Product Costing.
