WS: 12: Modified Start Date Incorrect for Apportionment Code M (Mid-Month) Using Override Date Pattern for LT (P12855) (Doc ID 2035622.1)

Last updated on MAY 01, 2017

Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The Compute UDD Depreciation program (P12855) derives at the incorrect modified start date and produces an incorrect depreciation amount for a straight line method with apportionment code M (Mid-Month) when using Override Date Pattern for Ledger Type in the Ledger Type Rules.

For example, the company is on a fiscal date pattern, September through August; the Ledger Type Rules for the tax ledger are set with Override Date Pattern for LT = R (standard calendar date pattern January through December) for depreciation calculations.  An asset with a depreciation start date of 06/30/11 (period 10 of fiscal year 10 on the fiscal pattern; period 6 of fiscal year 11 on the calendar pattern) has a modified start date of 10/16/11 vs. 06/16/11 based on the calendar date pattern.  As a result, the depreciation calculation is incorrect.
