The Reversing Journal Entries processing option was added to the Post General Ledger program to accommodate reversals at year-end when there is a 13th period defined. When this processing option is set to 1, the reversing journal entry should be created with a general ledger date equal to the first period of the next fiscal year. However, an issue occurs when a company's date pattern is non-calendar, and a reversing journal entry is created with a general ledger date NOT equal to the last day of period 12, with the processing option set to 1, the reversing segment of the journal entry is created with an incorrect general ledger date. Similarly, when a reversing journal entry is created with a general ledger date equal to the last day of period 12, with the processing option set to 1, the reversing segment of the journal entry is created with the correct general ledger date.
