WS: 31: Repetitive Manufacturing using Lot Controlled Items No Longer Respects Backflush to Work Center Location in A9.4 (Doc ID 2480327.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 06, 2019

Applies to:

JD Edwards World Shop Floor Management - Version A9.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In A9.4 and above, Rate Base or Repetitive Manufacturing no longer respects the Commitment Method defined in the Item Branch/Plant Information (P41026) screen when Backflush to Work Center Location is active.

When using Lot Controlled items with Backflush to Work Center Location active within Manufacturing Constants, field Backflush Options (BFOP), along with the Commitment Method field set to a 3 to commit inventory by lot expiration date within the Item Branch/Plant Information (P41026) screen, the Location - Issue field (LOCN) is ignored. When attaching a parts list to a Rate or Repetitive schedule, the earliest lot is selected from any location associated with the components. Not the location defined in the Location - Issue field defined in Enter/Change Work Centers (P3006).

An example of this is as follows:

Enter/Change Work Centers (21/G3141) is defined as Location - Issue "B". The Commitment Method selected in the Item Branch/Plant Information (P41026) screen, is a 3 to commit by earliest lot expiration date:

Component Item     Location               Lot #             Expiration Date                  Available Qty

------------------    --------------             ---------           ---------------------             --------------------

     XXX                      B                    A123              12/31/21                           1,000

     XXX                      B                    A456              12/31/19                           1,000

     XXX                      C                   A789               12/31/18                           1,000

When the parts list is attached, Location C and lot A789 is committed to. The correct commitment should have been Location B, lot A456 with the expiration date of December 31, 2019 as location B is selected in the Work Center Master (P3006).
