WS: INST: Will JD Edwards World Software Upgrade Correctly Using Independent Auxiliary Storage Pool (IASP)?
(Doc ID 2651756.1)
Last updated on NOVEMBER 02, 2020
Applies to:JD Edwards World Install/Upgrade/Migration - Version A7.3 cume 4 and later
IBM i on POWER Systems
Error in the Step 1 joblog - Joblog shows JDE9999 message, but gives no information to help troubleshoot the cause.
The MAIN-CHGF conversions do not submit and do not appear in the File Conversion Inquiry as having failed.
The use of Independent Auxiliary Storage Pool IASP causes the upgrade to fail.
Note: Per https://www.helpsystems.com/blog/iasps-what-they-are-and-why-you-need-them-ibm-i : "Basic ASPs are numbers 2 through 32 and are linked to the system ASP. They cannot be independently varied on or off and are primarily used to isolate journal receivers from the data in the system ASP. Independent ASPs can be independently varied on and off and switched between systems. When created, IASPs are identified by device description and by number, ranging from 33 through 255. The three types of IASPs include UDFS, primary, and secondary. UDFS can only hold IFS objects, while primary and secondary can also contain library objects."
Basic and Independent IASPs can be viewed/confirmed using the command WRKASPBRM and searching for *ALL Auxiliary storage pool, and *ALL ASP class.
