Symptoms

When an employee turns 70 during a payroll process, P07210, CPP tax stops calculating on that payroll.  According to Canada Revenue Agency, CPP contributions should calculate up to and including the last pay dated in the month in which the employee turns 70.

Steps:

  1. In a month an employee turns 70 years of age, process a pre-payroll, P07210, from menu G7713.
  2. When the pre-payroll is completed, access the Payroll Register, R063012, from 'work with submitted jobs'.
  3. Review the payroll register for taxes calculated and confirm CPP tax did not calculate for the 70 year old employee.
