WS: 13: Completing/Closing a P&E Work Order in PM History & Completion (P12071) Error 3776 - Meter Change Detected Generates and Another Work Order is Created for Same Service (Doc ID 2858327.1)

Last updated on MARCH 31, 2022

Applies to:

JD Edwards World Plant & Equipment Maintenance - Version A7.3 cume 4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Customer recently replaced an hour meter on a machine. Since doing this, when a maintenance work order (WO) is created, completed, and closed, a new WO is created the next day for the same service. When the customer tries to complete the new work order, Error 3776 - Meter Change Detected, generates.

It appears that the system thinks that the completed hours being input in the field 'Compl. Hours' (data dictionary item CPLF) of the PM History & Completion (P12071) program, are lower than what the work order had calculated. Customer believes this is caused by the change of the hour meter and the current hour reading is far below what the former hour reading was from the past.

Error 3776 - Meter Change Detected

CAUSE. . . . . You have entered a current meter reading that is less than the last reading.

RESOLUTION . . This is just a warning. You can complete the PM Service Type using this meter reading, but the current meter reading balances will not be updated. If the meter reading is lower due to a meter change or rollover at the time of service, you need to record that change from the Meter Readings screen.

Changes

A meter has been replaced with a different meter that already contained lifetime hours.
