Symptoms

When Missouri (tax area 26) SUI (state unemployment insurance) tax type H, is set up on the Unemployment Insurance Rates Table, P069221, with a .00 rate and earning limit of 999999.99, the Excess Wage field is populated in F063501, Payroll Worktable during Pre-Payroll, P06210 and updated in Tax History, F06136, after Final Update, P063901.

Steps:

  1. Set up a .00 override for 26/H with 9999999.99 annual earning limit on Unemployment Insurance Rates Table, P069221.
  2. Process a Missouri employee through Payroll Processing, P06210.
  3. Review the workfile, F063501, for the 26/H Excess field and note it is populated with the gross pay amount.
  4. Continue processing payroll through Final Update, P063901.
  5. Review Tax History, F06136, for 26/H for the Missouri employee and note the Excess field is incorrectly populated with the gross pay amount.
