A group profile is a way of grouping employees within your organization who have similar job requirements.  For example, you might want to set up a group profile for all Accounts Payable employees.  With one group profile, you can control the menus and the security for all of the employees within the group. 

A group profile is easier to maintain.  If any attribute needs to change in the future, you make the change to the group profile instead of to each individual user profile.
