Purpose
Understanding the P3102/F3102: Production Cost Inquiry previously known as Variance Inquiry. These are very useful Program and file when researching specific work orders from a cost perspective. This document explains the Production Cost Inquiry (P3102) based on the F3102. The Variance File (F3102) is updated throughout the Work Order lifetime, tracks its variances and provides information from a costing and cost variance perspective. This document explains how each named variance is created and calculated. The F3102 is the source for variance journal entries (P31804).
Scope
Production cost accountants along with end users can benefit from this information. This information applies to Standard Cost (07) work orders.
