WS: 04: How to Process AP Payments to Print Amounts in Words instead of Numbers (Doc ID 657010.1)

Last updated on APRIL 04, 2025

Applies to:

JD Edwards World Accounts Payable - Version A7.3 cume 14 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
The programs described in this document were added as of release A7.3 c14 and A8.1c5. No code change is available for this enhancement.

Goal

To describe how to override the system to print the payment amount in words on two lines, when it exceeds the characters allowed to print on one line on Accounts Payable hardcopy payments (checks), instead of having the system automatically convert the words to numbers.

For example, if you try to print a check for a payment amount of 87,999,999.12, the system automatically converts the amount from words (Eighty Seven Million Nine Hundred Ninety Nine Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety Nine and 12/100) to the numeric equivalent (87,999,999.12). If you want, you can override this feature and print the amount in words on two lines.
