Goal
This document provides a straight forward procedure on creating your own Root Certificate of Authority (CA) using OpenSSL to issue certificates for use with Oracle iPlanet Web Servers.
Typical use for this would be for configuring and testing a secure (SSL) web server.
To establish the appropriate trust relationship required for external clients a valid certificate should be acquired from one of the publicly trusted Certificate of Authority establishments, ie: Verisign.com or Thawte.com, etc...
