How to Change a Local-Mode Glassfish Message Queue Broker's Heap Size (Doc ID 1003261.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 09, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle GlassFish Server - Version 7.0 and later
All Platforms

Goal

This article will show how to pass command line arguments that the Message Queue (MQ) imqbrokerd utility accepts, which provides a means to set the MQ Broker's Java heap size.  This article is specific to MQ brokers configured to run in LOCAL mode, that is those that are started by the Application Server instance when it is started.  It does not cover REMOTE mode brokers, which are started separately from the Application Server instance and can have the appropriate arguments passed directly to the imqbrokerd command, nor does it cover EMBEDDED mode brokers as they share the same heap as the Application Server instance, and therefore their instance's Java arguments control the heap configuration.
