How to resolve problem with Monk Test Console without file being overwritten (Doc ID 1025549.1)

Symptoms

When trying to run the Monk Test Console, no output is generated and errors similar to the following may be generated:

Cannot connect to the registry server.

However, implementing the fix to change the following line in the monkext.monk is constantly overwritten in the client directory:

(if (not (defined? reg_get_file))
to:
(if #f

How can the change be implemented so as to prevent the changes from being reverted?
