When using a text area element in a page layout, the cursor will always begin on the second row 3 spaces from the left side of the text area. You can use the mouse to place the cursor at the "beginning" of the text area, but if you tab to the text area, it goes to that the second row, 3 spaces out. You can delete the white spaces and it will then tab to the beginning of the text area.
