Symptoms

The INFO-level alert "External State Unresponsive User; Reason = External client unresponsive for 20 seconds; Event Name = Waiting for outgoing message confirmation" is generated periodically (based on a counter in versions up to and including 4.5.1 and every 15 seconds in 4.5.2). This alert indicates that an outbound workslice has not been "acked" by the external system for a given a period of time. The setting that controls how often these alerts are generated is not currently user-configurable, but you can stop the messages from appearing in Monitor through a simple modification to the Notification.tsc file.
