Is it possible to configure a Java Oracle eWay to raise an alert if the connection to the database is lost? (Doc ID 1028022.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 13, 2004

Applies to:

Sun SeeBeyond e*Gate - Version: 4.5.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

If the "Connection Establishment Mode" is set to Automatic, then the "Connection verification interval" is used to regularly check the connection, and re-establish the connection if required.

If the connection to Oracle is lost, no alert is raised because the e*Way is still running, and will automatically reconnect when Oracle becomes available again.

However, it may be useful to have an alert raised in this circumctance, so as to be notified that there is a problem with Oracle.
