Sessiontimezone Query is Different Between SQLPlus and SQL Developer (Doc ID 1056122.1)

Symptoms

In SQLPlus, the timezone is always changed to GMT, although the machine is located in EST timezone. It could be verified with the following query:


Executing this query from SQL Developer, installed in the same machine in EST timezone, sends the right date and time from the EST timezone.
