E-Mail To: List for WebCenter Spaces is Restricted to Comma for the Delimiter (Doc ID 1057384.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 04, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Portal - Version 11.1.1.2.0 to 11.1.1.2.0 [Release 11g]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
This issue affects the creation of E-mail message to the members of a Group Space, either by individual or by E-mail group.

Symptoms

When you select the option to generate an E-mail message to the members of a Group Space the "To:" field is created with comma as the delimiter between users and/or groups.

Microsoft Outlook cannot resolve this, when the e-mail server is setup to have email addresses in the form of: lastname, firstname. In this case the correct separator would be semi-colon ";".

Step-by-Step
1. Create a Group Space using a Community of Interest template.

2. Add a few members.

3. Go to "My Group Spaces".

4. For that Group Space, click on Group Space Actions, and select "Send Mail to Members". It brings up a MS Outlook e-mail with the "To" field with the members of the Group Space separated by commas.

Changes

For this fix we have added a new configuration parameter. This parameter needs to be specified as a mail service property.

Important:

It requires that WebCenter 11.1.1.2.0 Bundled Patch 1 - <Patch 9313626> - or above has been applied.
For the latest WebCenter 11.1.1.2.0 Bundled Patch available refer to <Note 1087226.1> - Recommended Patches for Oracle WebCenter 11g.
The fix is already incorporated within WebCenter 11.1.1.3.0 and above.
