More Consumers Happens For A MDB Connecting To A Remote Uniform Distributed JMS Queue In A Cluster As Configured (Doc ID 1057783.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 03, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Server - Version 9.2 to 10.3.2
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In the following situation you may observe additional JMS consumers:

A MDB deployed in a cluster connected to a remote Uniform Distributed Queue.
The MDB is configured like:

<max-beans-in-free-pool>2</max-beans-in-free-pool>
<initial-beans-in-free-pool>2</initial-beans-in-free-pool>

So the MDB has exactly 2 beans in pools per Managed Server in the Cluster.

In a 2 Managed Server Cluster scenario 4 JMS Consumers should appear in the JMS Queue statistics; instead additional consumers can be observed; the occurrence of the issue is unpredictable.
