Last updated on MARCH 08, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle(R) BPEL Process Manager - Version: 10.1.3.3 to 10.1.3.4 - Release: AS10gR3 to AS10gR3
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In a 10.1.3.4 clustered environment you're seeing a hanging process in which no new instances can be created.  There are no errors in the log files.

Generally, if startup is taking lot of time and a threaddump shows that the startup is blocked on the SchedulerAgent.recover() method when you do not have startup recovery enabled in your environment, you have hit upon this same issue.

Information regarding startup recovery can be found in the following documentation:
Oracle Application Server Release Notes and New Features
10g Release 3 (10.1.3.4)
Part Number E12523-04
5.10.6 Automatic Recovery of Messages
