OVD Unauthenticated Binds (DN With No Password) Are Disallowed (Doc ID 1060097.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 28, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Virtual Directory - Version 10.1.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Using Oracle Virtual Directory (OVD) with Active Directory (AD), OpenLDAP and Oracle Internet Directory (OID) backend ldap servers.

Everything was first configured and tested in a test environment and worked without issues.

The test OVD conf was tarred up and copied to two other production environments.

One production environment (env) is working fine.

The other production env is failing during the join bind between OpenLDAP and Active Directory (credentials are from AD).  OVD unauthenticated binds (DN with no password) are being disallowed.

Anonymous binds work fine.
