Oracle WebCenter Content (WCC) Desktop Integration Suite Authentication Issue with Kerberos and Outlook/MSWord Check-In (Doc ID 1061469.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 14, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle WebCenter Content - Version 10.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

WCC 10.1.3.5.1 and DIS build 8.2.0.1026, users are unable to checkin documents using Microsoft Word or Outlook.  A Single Sign On Solution has been implemented and is based on Active Directory and Kerberos. The mod_auth_kerb Module for Apache is set to the REMOTE_USER Request Header in the HTTP request.

Here is the error that occurs:

Checkin/checkout works fine with Internet Explorer (IE). The browser does not challenge the user for authentication because the Integrated Windows Authentication of IE is being used.
Checkin with Drag and Drop works fine.

The workaround is to Checkin the Documents via Drag and Drop, but this is not satisfying because the users need to add additional Metadata at checkin.
