Purpose

There are several areas of the Smart Update Tool and the My Oracle Support (MOS) Patch Download that WebLogic Portal (WLP) users should be aware of in order to apply and maintain patches.  This document addresses these areas.

Note: The Smart Update Tool was introduced in WLP 9.2 and is used for 9.2 and later versions of WLP.  The Smart Update Tool does not work with WLP 8.1.
