WebLogic Admin Server Keeps Running Out of Memory When SNMP Server Agent Is Enabled (Doc ID 1061874.1)

Last updated on MAY 21, 2021

Applies to:

Oracle WebLogic Server - Version 10.0 to 10.3.2
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Enabling the SNMP Server agent on the admin or managed servers causes memory leaks, eventually leading to OutOfMemory (OOM) errors.

We can see that the SNMP toolkit objects (monfox.toolkit.snmp.util.OidTree$Node seems to be the main culprit) are getting created but are never garbage collected (GCed).

This issue creates a massive number of instances and causes significant memory degradation when the SNMP Server agent is enabled on admin and managed servers. A restart of the servers every other day has to be done to alleviate this issue.
