Symptoms

I have a project where a process invokes a sub-process through a subflow activity. The project is deployed and running in Enterprise environment.
I need to make some major modifications to the business logic in both process and sub-process and want to ensure that old instances continue flowing through the old processes and old sub-process.

I noticed that if a new version is deployed, the new instances in sub-process are created in the new sub-process definition, no matter if the parent instance comes from the new or old parent process. Also noticed that this happens regardless of the new definition being compatible or non-compatible with the old one.

Is there any way to force that for old instances in parent process, the sub-process instances are created in the old sub-process definition?
