Extending WebCenter Spaces – Renamed Personal Space Tab Does Not Always Display Proper Text (Doc ID 1068384.1)

Symptoms

Extending WebCenter Spaces to rename the Personal Space Tab doesn't always display proper text. Sometimes the Personal Space Tab will switch back to "Personal Space". And some other times it will show "#{'Home'}".

Steps To Reproduce:

There are 2 case scenarios:

Case 1:

  1. Follow the instructions to extend WebCenter Spaces to rename the Personal Space tab as per the following document:

    Renaming the Personal Space Tab

    In step 2 of the above section customize the Personal Space Tab as follows:

    <property name="oracle.webcenter.spaces.psLabel"
    value="'Home'"/>
  2. Deploy the customized war file for WebCenter Spaces.

  3. Login to WebCenter Spaces.

  4. Open a few group Spaces and let the focus in one of the group spaces (not the Home).

  5. Let the session open/untouched for an hour or so the session expires.

  6. Try to click any of the Group Spaces Tabs.
    You will be shown a login prompt. So do Login to gain access again.
    Here you should see the Home Tab with the wrong label : "#{'Home'}"


Case 2:

  1. Follow the instructions to extend WebCenter Spaces to rename the Personal Space tab as per the following document:

    Renaming the Personal Space Tab

    In step 2 of the above section customize the Personal Space Tab as follows:

    <property name="oracle.webcenter.spaces.psLabel"
    value="'Home'"/>
  2. Deploy the customized war file for WebCenter Spaces.

  3. Login to WebCenter Spaces.

  4. Select the Home tab (Personal Space).

  5. Select Preferences.

  6. Select OK (no changed needed).
    Here you should see the Home Tab returns to "Personal Space".
