OVD JoinView Adapter Does Not Perform Namespace Transformation on DN Attribute Using a Complex Filter (Doc ID 1068484.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 20, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Virtual Directory - Version 10.1.4.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

An LDAP search against OVD using a JoinView Adapter with a complex AND/OR filter having a DN attribute with Join Adapter namespace does not return any entry, though a matching entry exists in the configured primary adapter.

Example:

ldapsearch -p <PORT#> -D <USERNAME> -w <PASSWORD> -L -s sub -b "cn=groups,dc=ad-oid-join,dc=ovd,dc=<COMPANY>,dc=com" "(&(objectclass=group)(member=cn=<USERNAME>,cn=groups,dc=ad-oid-join,dc=ovd,dc=<COMPANY>,dc=com))"

However the information is returned when a simple filter is used.

Example:

ldapsearch -p <PORT#> -D <USERNAME> -w <PASSWORD> -L -s sub -b "cn=groups,dc=ad-oid-join,dc=ovd,dc=<COMPANY>,dc=com" "(member=cn=<USERNAME>,cn=groups,dc=ad-oid-join,dc=ovd,dc=<COMPANY>,dc=com))"
