Symptoms

If a date field is added in the path for the storage rule location in File Store Provider (FSP), Checkout and Open (COAO) fails.

An example of a storage rule path with a date field is:

$PartitionRoot$/$dDocType$/$DisperseOnYear$/$dID$$ExtensionSeparator$$dExtension$

This is a webless file store. The file is correctly stored in the proper directory when first checked in, for example:

d:\docsdata\adeng\2010

The file can be opened with no issues through WebDAV (Microsoft Web Folders).

However, using COAO through the browser to open the file fails with this error:

Unable to parse date '2010-02-10T17:39:00Z'. Failed to find text '/' in its proper location. Unable to parse date '2010-02-10T17:39:00Z'. Failed to find text '/' in its proper location. Unable to parse date '2010-02-10T17:39:00Z'. Failed to find text '/' in its proper location.
