Symptoms

After restarting the host machine, JRockit is unable to start.

Tried to re-install JRockit, but it will not start either.  The default Java install is not removed, as verified below:

[weblogic@xxxxx74 ~]$ java -version
java version "1.4.2"
gij (GNU libgcj) version 4.1.2 20080704 (Red Hat 4.1.2-44)

But JRockit commands fail with error:

[weblogic@xxxxx74 ~]$ cd /usr/local/bea
[weblogic@xxxxx74 bea]$ jrockit-R27.4.0-jdk1.5.0_12/bin/java -version

Same error after re-installing JRockit:

[weblogic@xxxxx74 ~]$ ./jrockit-R27.4.0-jdk1.5.0_12-linux-ia32.bin
Extracting 0%....................................................................................................100%
