Oracle Access Manager (OAM) has been configured for Lost Password Management (LPM). New users without any LPM Challenge questions and Responses are prompted to set these when they first login to an OAM-protected site. This functionality has been working without issue for some time.

Now suddenly all users with existing LPM Challenges / Responses configured are redirected to set Challenge questions and Responses again when they login to the OAM-protected site. Their existing Challenge Response values in the LDAP user entry are removed.

Newly created users do not experience the same problem. On first login new users are redirected to set LPM Challenge questions and Responses then subsequent site access does not redirect to set Challenge questions and Responses again.

The problem only occurs for users who set LPM Challenge Response values before a specific date.

Steps to Reproduce

1. User who has already set Challenge Response values at an earlier date accesses an OAM-protected site in a new browser session.
2. User is redirected to the OAM login page
3. User submits valid credentials.
4. User is redirected to the Identity System 'redirectforCAC' page i.e.

5. Check of the user entry in LDAP server finds that the pre-existing values for the Challenge and Response attributes have been removed.
