Extending Sun Java System Directory Server Schema for Enterprise User Security (EUS) Fails (Doc ID 1089475.1)

Symptoms

Extending Sun Java System Directory Server (now known as Oracle Directory Services Enterprise Edition) schema fails with errors when following the documentation.

The executed command is:

ORACLE_HOME/bin/ldapmodify -h iPlanet_Host_Name -p iPlanet_Port \
-D cn="directory manager" -q -v -a -f ./iPlanetSchema.ldif


This fails with the following errors:

ldap_modify: Type or value exists
ldap_modify: additional info: attribute type pwdGraceLoginLimit: Does not match the OID "1.3.6.1.4.1.42.2.27.8.1.8".
Another attribute type is already using the name or OID.

ldap_modify: Type or value exists
ldap_modify: additional info: attribute type pwdCheckSyntax: Does not match the OID "1.3.6.1.4.1.42.2.27.8.1.5".
Another attribute type is already using the name or OID.

ldap_modify: Type or value exists
ldap_modify: additional info: attribute type servicesearchdescriptor: Does not match the OID "1.3.6.1.4.1.11.1.3.1.1.8".
Another attribute type is already using the name or OID.

ldap_modify: Type or value exists
ldap_modify: additional info: attribute type pwdPolicySubentry: Does not match the OID "2.16.840.1.113894.1.1.417".
Another attribute type is already using the name or OID.
