Symptoms

Oracle SOA Suite is a software suite to build, deploy and manage Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA),
Oracle Business Process Execution Language (BPEL)Process Manager is a part of the Oracle SOA Suite .


When using Oracle BPEL PM a attempting to use the parseEscapedXML function the following error occurs.


ORABPEL-09500
XPath expression failed to execute.
Error while processing xpath expression, the expression is "ora:parseEscapedXML(bpws:getVariableData('OrderResponse','Input','/ns6:Input/ns6:InputString'))", the reason is FOTY0001: type error.
Please verify the xpath query.
