This Master Note answers the most frequently asked questions about Universal Content Management 11g release.  This document will be continually updated as additional information becomes available.  A guided tour of the best notes and documentation for WebCenter Content 11g can be found here, in the Information Center for WebCenter Content.  


Information contained in this document targets all users of the WebCenter 11g product. This information can also be used when planning WebCenter 11g installations.



Getting Started

Check the resources in the table below to get started.  WebCenter Content is a product within Enterprise Content Management (ECM) which in turn is under Fusion Middleware (FMW). You will find references to WebCenter Content, ECM, and FMw in this document.





The best place to begin is with the ECM Release Notes and documentation. You will also want to check the Fusion Middleware documentation.

To locate the ECM 11g software on E-delivery:

Starting with 11g, the ECM software is bundled with the 11g Fusion Middleware Media Pack. To download the most current ECM 11g base media from E-Delivery, use the following steps:

1. Access E-Delivery:
2. On the main page, choose a language and click Continue.
3. On the Export Validation page, fill in your contact information, select the check boxes to accept the license terms and export restrictions, and click Continue.
4. On the Media Pack Search page:
   a. Select Oracle Fusion Middleware from the Select a Product Pack drop-down menu.
   b. Select a supported platform from the Platform drop-down menu:
      Base Platforms: Linux x86 (32 bit), Microsoft Windows (32 bit) 
      Porting Platforms: Linux x86-x64 (64 bit),  Microsoft Windows x64 (64 bit), Solaris  Operating Environment (SPARC 64-bit), HP-UX Itanium (64 bit, IBM AIX on POWER Systems (64-bit),  HP-UX PA-RISC (64-bit)
   c. Click Go to perform the search.
   d. In the search Results table, select Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Media Pack' for <platform> and click Continue (or just click on the link for the media pack).
5. From the Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g Media Pack for <platform> page, you can download the most current ECM 11g base media. Please note that you can click the Readme button at the top of the download table to view a Readme that should assist with determining ECM 11g license-to-media mapping.

ECM 11g Certification information may now be found in My Oracle Support. The following steps will bring you there;

  1. Navigate to the Certification Tab inside the Support Portal
  2. Type "webcenter" in the product box and you will see a drop down of WebCenter Products
  3. Select "Oracle WebCenter Universal Content Management"
    Note: There is also a drop down for WebCenter Content, this is needed for "Enterprise Applications"
  4. Select "" as the product version and Click "Search"
